Service Members – Day 11

Here it is! The infamous “two for one deal” that I’ve been promising for the last two days. Be honest, how many of you thought that I was hinting at an engagement shoot?

After a few delays I am glad to bring you all U.S. Air Force First Lieutenant Jack M. and Brittany Oligney. Britt is in my DINFOS class section and after learning about my day job, she asked if I wouldn’t mind taking some engagement pictures when herfianceJack came into town.

We planned to head down to theLincoln Memorial and unfortunately, we had a bit of a weather delay with the snow storms last week. Undeterred, Jack and Britt opted to have an engagement session in my impromptu studio here in my hotel room and wouldn’t you know it, the photos turned out great!

And here’s a little background about these two; Jack grew up in Nashville, Tenn., as model airplane pilot, football player and a gun enthusiast. HeattendedVanderbiltwhere hereceiveda bachelor’s degree in economics and went on to commission through R.O.T.C.. Britt was raised on a steady diet of wake boarding and volleyball in Katy, Texas. After high school, Britt attended the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs and completed a degree in aeronautical engineering (big brain!).

While photographing these two I got a chance to hear theirneat story of how they met. While Jack was attending Undergraduate Pilot training at Sheppard Air Force Base, Texas, he ran into Britt who was working as a protocol officer. Without hesitation (according to him…dudes have to stick together) he asked Britt out on a Pizza date and the rest is history.

These two are tying the knot in next month in Austin, Texas and I wish them the best of luck with the rest of their lives together.
