David and Marisa

I am happy to bring you David and Marisa’s University of Maryland wedding photos!

David and Marisa are friends and classmates with Jon and Bonnie, whose wedding I photographed last year. Like Jon, David is commissioned the Air Force and it was a pleasure working with another fellow service members. Ironically enough, all three of us attended the same school and were commissioned by the same ROTC detachment, what a small world!

David and Marisa held their ceremony at the quaint West Chapel on campus at The University of Maryland and had lots of nice DIY touches that Marisa and her family put together. Before we left for the reception, we traveled around campus while David and Marisa braved the cold February winter day. They were such troopers and great sports!

After the ceremony, the group moved north to the Lodge at Little Seneca Creek which is also where James and Jen were married last year. Much like the ceremony, Marisa and her family decorated the lodge with a number of memorabilia individual to them. As you know, we did not get much snow this year but, a sprinkling came down after we finished our formals and we were lucky enough to capture a nice portrait outside the lodge.

I want to thank David and Marisa for having me. I had a great time with you guys and I wish you two all the best with your new life together. Go Terps!

C’Ville Weekly published an editorial piece today on John McGuire’s SEAL Physical Training program in Charlottesville. My photos accompanied the article, and here are some favorites that didn’t make the cut.

I I was extremely impressed with this motivated group. Instructor McGuire was able to pull together 30+ students for a last second session on a Sunday morning, just for the article.

Loved that they incorporate Zodiac boats into their drills. Very authentic.

If you’re looking for a new exercise program or just want to get involved, I would highly recommend linking up with these folks. More info can be found here.
