Golden Dragons

Two projects in two days is too great…I promise you’ll never read anything like that again. But I am stoked, I FINALLY got this album posted and I couldn’t be happier with the results.

I normally don’t post consecutive shots, but I thought that these were too good to pass up. These guys were AMAZING, and best of all free!

I found this blurb describing their act;

“The Golden Dragon Acrobats represent the best of a time honored tradition that began more than 27 centuries ago. Direct from Hebei, China, the company has traveled around the world to all 50 states and to more than 65 countries on five continents, including performances at prestigious venues like the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and Caesar’s Palace in Atlantic City just to name a few.

With performers trained in the rigorous art of acrobatics since early youth, the troupe has garnered international acclaim. The Golden Dragon Acrobats have been presented with several major awards over the company’s history including the National Association of Campus Activities (NACA) Entertainer of the Year Award and the Campus Activities Today’s Performer of the Year Award.

The Golden Dragon Acrobats are under the casting direction of Asian Artists Productions located in Plano, TX. AAPI chooses its talented performers directly from the People’s Republic of China and maintains a team of theatrical technicians and touring managers in the United States whom are responsible for the safe travel and execution of the touring show.”

And it showed, great show and I was really happy that I happened to have a tripod on me!

Lately, I’ve been extremely behind on editing and posting pictures but I’m trying to play catch up as best I can.

Last night I posted pics from a trip to Charlottesville, VA that I took a couple weeks ago under the Travel section in my gallery. I wrote a bunch of descriptions and talked a lot to the trip and the elements that I enjoyed so be sure to finger through the entire album if you have the time.

I’d say that this shot is my favorite out of the lot. I really like the colors and the details that came out (especially in the table) after a bit of Unsharpen Mask in Photoshop CS2. Speaking of, I am just about to order CS3 after a long awaited time without processing RAW files. Unfortunately, Adobe Camera Raw (ACR) for CS2 does not support the Sony a700 (my baby) file type and I have been unable to shoot in the larger format. When the Buzzuto shoot came up I knew it was time, and I’m reluctant to spend the money, but excited to see all the changes that were implemented.

Let me know if you can see the difference in the image quality form this point on, or just continue to read my rantings.
